The Yamanote Line loops Shibuya → Shinjuku → Tokyo → Akihabara → Ueno → Ikebukuro and back. Metro + Toei handle everything else. One Suica tap-in pays for all three. Signs are bilingual.
Taxi
Clean, polite, not cheap but not predatory. Doors open automatically — don't yank. Credit cards fine everywhere. Gets you home after last train (~midnight) without the two-hour wait for night buses.
Walk
Tokyo is a walking city. Most 'neighbourhood-hops' here are 10-min strolls, not cab rides. Between Shibuya/Harajuku/Omotesando especially — you'll walk past everything you meant to see.
